An urban legend is a story involving incidents in the past, often of horror and humor. Urban legends are often made up to scare people or just told to become an interesting story. But then these urban legends and stories spread quickly and the more they’re told the more people start to think they are real and are true. There is no real evidence that certain urban legends like Bigfoot and Yeti are real and true. Urban legends have been around for centuries, and each time are told in different ways or different things happen in the legend. If you were to ask someone to tell you of the urban legend of Bigfoot or Yeti you would hear parts of the story that similar and some parts that are different. Some people add their own little details and twists in to once again make an interesting story or to scare someone. There are a lot of beliefs in these urban legends but are they true or not? I am going to share with you 3 urban legends and you can decide what you think or, if you heard stories about them already think of how it’s similar of different from the one you heard. And actually think about whether you think it’s real or not. The first urban legend is bloody Mary, the story behind this is to be believed that a young girl in the 1900’s became very ill and fell into a coma, the local doctor was old and feeble and without knowing pronounced the girl dead. The family buried her alive. The first night Mary’s mother thought she heard screaming coming from the grave, she convinced the family to dig up her grave. They found her dead but also saw scratches on top of the coffin and Mary’s finger nails were bloody from her efforts to escape. that was the supposedly story of blood Mary now the urban legend is that if u turn the lights off in the bathroom, run the water, and flush the toilet and look in the mirror and say bloody Mary 3 times she’ll appear. Personally I heard different stories about this urban legend.
Another urban legend that is known is Candy man a young man named Daniel was in love with a white woman when her father found out he stirred up a bigoted mob. They beat Daniel senseless and pinned him to the ground against a fallen tree, sawed off his hand with an old rusty blade. Smeared him with honey from a nearby tree, and the agitated bees swarmed upon him, stinging him hundreds of times. The crowd was chanting candy man and slowly the man died. that was the supposedly story of candy man now the urban legend is if u look in the mirror and say candy man 5 times he’ll appear and if you look dead at him in his eye he will kill you with the hook he replaced as a hand. I don’t know if this urban legend is true but I know there are movies and books based on it. The last urban legend is actually more popular than others and was based on stories and events. Amityville horror-a man kills his whole family by shooting them. It is believed the house is haunted. Black ooze comes out from the toilets, doors blown off the hinges, teeth marks everywhere, and bleeding walls. They’re stories about the property being built on Indian grounds, and Indian sanitarium or even a supposed witch living on property from Salem Massachusetts. I don’t believe in urban legends but what are your thoughts and comments on them? Do you believe they are real? Do you believe they exist? Or do you think they’re stories that are made up for fun or to scare people?

media violence
Media violence affects people in different ways. The study of media violence has made me realize a few things. One being that life is to short for all this. People’s lives are being taken from acts of violence, wither they were a part of it or an innocent bystander. Second being that it made me realize im at risk everyday of being a part of some type of violence. At any moment and point and time. For years violence has been around, in video Games, music video, magazines, TV, etc. and I have seen the way it control’s
People’s minds and bodys.and how in certain situations people’s anger is avenged because of all the violence that is surrounding them. At one point and time I was watching these TV shows and all that and thought I can be tough and be like the girls
I saw but I realized I didn’t want to contribute to world violence when it’s already so much of it.
